Hi everyone! My fiancé and I closed on our very first home back in February.
When we first contacted Brent, we weren’t in a rush to buy a home, but wanted to know what we could afford so we could begin perusing the houses up for sale. Brent recommended that we get pre-approved now if we were looking to buy within the next year.
So, one Saturday morning, we sat down and filled out the pre-approval application online. It was a really straightforward form and only took 15-30 minutes to complete. Brent called us first thing that following Monday and set up an appointment to discuss our loan options. He walked us through our options and, when asked, gave his honest opinion on which loan he would recommend. He also let us know that the entire loan process, from the time our offer was accepted until the keys were in our hands, would take 45 days minimum, depending on our cooperation.
About two weeks later, we found our house and put in an offer that night. Brent and our realtor were in contact while we were filling out the purchase agreement, so the next morning Brent called to congratulate me and discuss which loan option we had decided on. When the seller accepted our offer (hooray!), Brent requested updated documents and sent our loan off to underwriting.
For the next few weeks, Brent and Sarah kept us updated on where our loan was at in the process. The weeks passed quickly knowing people were working on our loan.
About a week before closing, Brent sent us our closing disclosures and final numbers. After doing so, he made sure to follow up with us to see if we had any additional questions. We were so grateful he took the time to call us because the closing documents were a little confusing.
We met at Mortgage Specialists for the closing and it went as smoothly as the rest of the process. After we completed all of the paperwork, Brent congratulated us on our purchase and left as new homeowners.
Since our closing a couple months ago, Brent has reached out to us a couple of times. He wanted to let us know we can come to him with any questions we may have.
Throughout the process, it became clear that Brent and Sarah are genuinely good people. I have no doubt that’s part of the reason the mortgage process was so seamless for us.
